Whiteboard
Introduction:
This Whiteboard, is our next step towards our objective.
"To Mobilize the Hidden Creativity in You".
Sometimes it is necessary to get some feedback from fellow modellers.
To discuss technical issues or concepts. These are more effective if one is
face to face or has the ability to present their issues, draw or sketch,
somehow, what one is thinking about.
TrainAidsA felt that one important tool that is missing for modellers, is the ability to interactivly exchange
ideas in real time. This allows us all to quickly discuss and get help or opinions as and when we need.
Keeping this in mind, TrainAidsA
has arranged this Whiteboard facility for your "FREE" use, via a service
provider (DimDim). This would we hope, encourage discussion and exchange of ideas
on modelling related issues. Repairs, decoration, electronic issues and
questions on products, all which can enhance the experience when discussed and viewed live.
Features:
At present, the system offers three features.
Present & discuss Documents/Presentations
Draw on a Whiteboard
Present and discuss URLs (Websites)
Even though we are using a service provider with experience,
we do not claim that this is going to be an error free experience.
We are still integrating it in our site and working with the provider to
configure it as closely to our needs as possible, we have decided to encourage
participation so we have an opportunity to evaluate our needs and fine tune it
accordingly. Please bear with us while we evaluate its usage to assess other features that we may introduce.
We suggest that you have a quick look at the User's
Guide to get an idea of its current features, capabilities and instructions on how to use.

Note: If you are attempting to join
a meeting that has not yet been started, you would receive the error message below, which indicates
that no meeting is in progress.
Please return to this page, to either Host a new meeting, or join an existing meeting at a later time.
At present, Text-Chat etc. (as shown below)will be archived when the recording is set to "ON" by the Host.
In addition, audio and video aspects will also record but only for
"Document / Presentations". These will be later made available for
future viewing or downloading.

In the near future, however, we hope to introduce
the ability to archive every mark or line drawn during a whiteboard session.
So at present the documents on the screen, along with the video/sound
and text-chat would be recorded. We have briefly explained in the User's
Guide, how, with the co-operation
of the participants, we can also archive the screens to make this a beneficial experience.
The next step is to be able to indicate if the meeting room is busy or free.
If not free, the name of the ongoing session and number of attendees.
But if a session is on, you can still try to join and perhaps the Host/Presenter
may allow you in.
At the moment, the only way to find out, is to see if you can join.
We will be adding more capabilities and information as we progress in this venture.
